The Frankfurt Trade Fair Centre is situated close to the city centre. The exhibition area includes exhibition pavilions with an indoor exhibition space of almost 370,000 square metres and outdoor spaces extending to 96,000 square metres. The Trade Fair Centre regularly hosts important events, such as the International Automobile Show, the COMIC CON and the Frankfurt Book Fair, but also congresses, meetings and other events as well as numerous concerts.
Each of the exhibition pavilions boasts a characteristic and unique architecture as a result of the work of enthusiastic and passionate, internationally renowned architects and designers who have enriched the project with their different stylistic approaches. The exhibition facilities were successively inaugurated from 1907 to 1909. The inaugural ceremonies ended with the official opening of the festival palace. Since then twelve further distinctive exhibition venues have been constructed over time.
